If your pedal assist is erratic or not working at all, your motor inhibitors could be preventing the system from running smoothly. If your throttle works fine, then these steps are sure to help.

First, identify the motor inhibitors (orange circle).

Use a 2mm allen key to remove the set screw (blue circle). Once removed, use a small crescent wrench to loosen off the motor inhibitors (orange circle) by 2-3 turns. If you loosen them off too far, no problem. Simply reinsert and gently tighten them by 1-2 turns. Make sure not to over-tighten them as they will prevent the motor from engaging properly. 

Do this for both sides.
